Pigments are seen in fluoropolymers as impurities. In FEP, pigments reduce dramatically the SCR (stress crack resistance) and the thermal stability of the molten mixture resulting in melt fracture, crack in use, burns... Resin selection, pigment selection, pigment content and excellent pigment dispersion are the keys to success.
